We have started to create our experimental jetset. I decided to follow the same flow they have started. This was the use of colours and less pictures. I decided to centre the text in the middle of the page this would make everyone have attention in the middle of the page. I decided to add 2 pictures on the side which was a knife. I decided to make it face the word knife as well. I did this to emphasise on what it meant and how bad it is. I decided to make the background of the page black as it’s a dark colour and then putting bright colours in front of the background so it stands out.

In martins lesson he was teaching us how to use after effects. This included using different positions so that the animation works. We were given a video of a woman walking into the frame and we had to add a text box which came into the screen from the left and then having text appear into the box and then fade out.

We have created our UCAS accounts for our university. Next week in tutorial I will be looking into universities and which courses they give. I personally don’t think I will be going university and doing an apprenticeship.

In today's lesson we had to finish our experimentation for our Constructivism posters. We had to use different tools and skills to complete this. I had chosen to use Photoshop to do this. The reason for this was because I am use to using Photoshop. I had faced issues on the way one was my computer decided to shut down and then in my final lesson my Photoshop was not working correctly. This was because the graphic card on the computer had an error on and didn't allow me to save or open anything up on Photoshop. I liked some of the work Constructivism did. But in certain areas I found that there work looked very plain but when looked at more of their work I found more skilled and more detailed work. This was certain designs created by them which was aesthetically pleasing.

On Monday we had Paul.  In the first lesson we had to pick what topic we want to choose for our short documentary. I was stuck and couldn’t choose between two so I decided to write down 2 different topics and then choose from one of them. This allows me to do some more research into the different topic I choose. This would allow me to get a greater knowledge of the two topics and make my final choice into them. We also had to find documentaries based on the topic/topics we choose. This would allow us to see what type of information they had used in their documentaries and anyway we can use the tips we get in our own production.

We also had Martin. In his lesson we were given cameras and were told to take the cameras outside the class and take pictures of anything we like. We had to set the camera on 200iso, the camera had to be on programme mode and the pictures had to be in raw+jpeg. After taking the pictures we had come back put it onto our computers and open a picture on Photoshop. This had to be the same picture in raw and jpeg. Than we were told to edit the raw format and see the different in an edited raw and a non-edited JPEG. Than we had to edit the Jpeg but we didn’t have the same amount of setting we did as a raw format. Than we looked at the difference between a raw and jpeg edited and the Raw format was still the better one.

In this lesson we had looked into a Russian based group of designers called Constructivism. The group was founded in 1913. We were tasked to write a short paragraph on who they are and what they do. Than we had to find 3 different pictures which were designed by them and then give a short description on it. In tomorrow's lesson I'm am planning to finish off the research and give my final opinion on their work.

In martins lesson we had finished off our video created by us in a video. This was learning about lower thirds and how it works. The things i learnt in the video was that there are certain places on the video where some areas of the video would not show up on some tv screens or laptops. I feel like that lesson helped me understand a lot about creating videos and what issues are faced when making them. I have uploaded the video onto my blog for evidence of completing the work.

Today we looked into Surrealism. This was created in 1920. We were tasked into researching into this group. We also had to look at images based on 3 different designers. They are named Lex Drewinski, Michal Batory and roman Cieslewicz. These were three designers we had to find a picture they created. We had to answer why the picture was created. Would it appeal to the audience?  I personally feel like this didn’t help me a lot. The reason why I say this is because their work is really old and people in the 21^st century don’t create work like this. I understand why we did it but I personally found that this task didn’t help me.  

In the morning and i have carried on creating my poster based on Surrealism. I also had finished of my research. I have completed my poster in the last lesson of the day as i had the same task to complete. I had completed the poster by getting a picture of a elephant. I struggled to find one as i wanted to get one which was front facing. After getting that i had removed the tusks and added a snake as a tusk.

In Martins lesson i went out to complete my voxpops. I struggled to find people to do it as people didn't want to be on camera or just didn't want to do it. Than i choose to interview teachers as they wouldn't mind to be in front of camera and answer a question based on my documentary theme. I had got 5 replies from people with mixed opinions. This would allow me to make my interview questions have different options.

In tutorial we had to go to a talk in the main hall based on a University scheme on apprenticeships.

30/09/19

On Monday I have started to merge all my clips together for the vox pops I had made for Paul. This was a bit of a struggle as I missed the lesson he went though it so I had to find out how to do it. But it wasn’t that hard as last year I had used premier pro so I knew the basic skills I needed to do it. I asked one of my class members for help as well as he was in the lesson and I wasn’t in. I completed both clips before the lesson so I aim to export the clips in the next lesson I have with Paul.

On Tuesday, we started to create a website. This was a practice task as we learnt new ways to create a website and it was easier. We used an Adobe software which was called Dreamweaver. Prom there we had to link the site to a folder I remembered how to do this because I did this last year when creating the foodbank website. Than we also have started to edit the site and add a few pictures on there and change the titles.

2/10/19

On Wednesday, in the first lesson I finished off my Brandalism research which I hadn’t completed. This included another picture of a designers and then researched on that. In tutorial we had given the chance to look into our future careers and I decided to look into university open days. Than in martins lesson we were talking about the work experience that people have been given and how to help them. This included everyone’s input and everyone’s opinion on how to help.

Than in the final lesson of the day I researched something called promotional mix. This gave me a lot of insight on how things work and what the main point are and what aren’t. I also learnt that in some places promotional mix is highly used and in some areas it isn’t used as much.

15/10/19

In today's lesson in the first session we had start creating our campaign pitch for our presentation we are going to do in front of our class. This was answering different segments of what our project is about, target audience and much more.

In the section session we were watching people’s campaign videos and then we had to answer what the video we watched was about. We included details and much more. The video I found the most heart touching was the 15 minutes care makeover video as it shows what actually happens in the real world. I feel like issues like that are not touched a lot by different people and this video shows so much and how things actually happen.

16/10/19

In the first lesson we had to mine map a list of names we can call our campaign pitch. Than in the second lesson we had gone to the library to find books which are related to out chosen campaign. I was struggling to find books as their wasn’t as many books on social media. But then we found a book and read it.

In the last lesson we had to start putting our things on our blog. I had added most of my completed work as some pieces of my work I need to change as there needs to be more text or even pictures. So I decided to finish things off and then upload it into my blog.

On Tuesday i had started to write out my campaign pitch. I still have a few points to finish. So on Wednesday lesson i will complete it.

On Wednesday I had started to finish off my campaign pitch. We had listened to 4 different peoples pitches. These helped me understand more about what needs to be said in the campaign pitches. I had given in some input on what other people can do for their project and what can help them. I learnt a lot of things which can be added to my campaign and what other things I can create. These are things such as a Posters and magazines.

04/11/19 -08/11/19

On Monday we finished off recording out interviews in Pauls lesson. I used 5 different people from both genders so I can get a good range of answers from my interview. I completed the interviews I needed to do for people who used social media for personal use. Now I need to make sure I get people who use social media for business use.

On Tuesday I had spoken in front of the class with my campaign pitch. I had been given feedback from both teacher and peers which has helped me understand more and given me more advice in what I need to add or remove from the campaign pitch. The one feedback which helped me understand more was on how I should use more than one design for my posters. This will make me have 3 different designs for my leaflet which needs to be different looking otherwise the posters will just be the same.

On Wednesday I had started to do a grid task. This task was based on work from magazines and leaflets which I had to analyse the grid layouts and if it was aesthetically pleasing or if not how they could improve it.

In tutorial I had finished off my second draft for my personal statement.

In the 4^th lesson of the day I did some work on after effects. This was making a still image into a 3D image. Than making a new layer for a camera which allows me to see the pictures in all directions. The different angles which I had learnt and how to use after effects in more detail.

In the final lesson I had looks into 2 leaflets which I had to do an analysis on. This was from how the leaflet looks and what positive and negative things the leaflet has. I also had to put up all the things I liked about the leaflet. I liked the way there was statistics used. The second leaflet I choose was about the ocean and how keeping the ocean clean would help so much. The use of the colour blue to show the ocean. I personally thought the blue was to show people how the ocean should look like. They only use certain statistics which should make the reader feel impacted more. 

18/11/19 – 22/11/19

On Monday in the first lesson I had started to add more images and text for the website I was creating for my client. This had to be done as I don’t want to leave the project to the end. I wanted to add more detail on the website to satisfy my employer.

On the second lesson I had started to do experimentation on my audio and video to see what places which will be better with lighting and sound. I started to add things to my documentary which included my interviews.

On Tuesday I started to create my logo. This was the logo I started last week to prepare. I had copied the free hand drawing and create it onto Photoshop. I have created 4 different logo ideas. But this was because I wanted to figure which one looks better and what reasons they look better. This allowed me to show off my design skills and allow me to pick the correct things.

On Wednesday I carried on finishing off my final logo.  I completed the last logo and decided which logo to choose this was the logo which allowed me to emphasis what needs to be heard. I used bright colours which allowed the text to be bold and so people know what it is about.

In Tutorial I had started to finish up my cover letter. The reason why it was a cover letter is because of the fact I will not be going university. This was the reason why I had to change the University personal statement into a cover letter.

In the 3rd lesson I had carried on with my website for my client. This was just adding information she wanted me to add and the images as well.

In the last lesson I had finished off completing the final logo which was because I wanted to start completing the logo and get onto creating my social media page and posters which included my logo. I also started to plan what my documentary will have. This was based on how I wanted to include a voice over in certain sections of the documentary to keep the audience intrigued. The voice over was also because of I wanted to explain what the documentary was about and at the end what would happen if people actually listened to things.

On Tuesday we were carrying on with creating posters for our work. I started by having many designs for my ideas. But i was forced to cut down all types of my ideas. This caused me to make sure all my designs had a variety of work.

On Wednesday we had gone onto a trip. This trip was the best trip we have ever had and also i felt like it was more helpful and had a bigger variety. This may have been due to the fact that the way the exhibition we had gone too was aesthetically pleasing. The trip had a range of things we could see as it covered basically everything around the world. This allowed us to visit places which we know about and places which we didn't know anything about and learn more things on it.

13/01/2020 - 17/01/2020

Monday I had carried on with my work experience work. This was to complete my website for my client by adding and changing designs. Than in the second lesson I had watched a few videos with my class and on Thursday we are to complete a task which we have to describe a scene of a movie based on how we have main characters from different races.

On Tuesday in both lessons I had started to write out my evaluation for my project. This was for the project as a whole. I feel like i need to improve the way I had written it as it was too straight to the point and I didn't give a detailed explanation into my work. I did this due to the fact of me being able to write down everything which my work was based on and than explaining all the information needed to show everyone what actually made me want to do this and the reasons i picked my topic of choice.

On Wednesday I had carried on with my evaluation and adding the important information which was missed out. This was a struggle as i had to go back on my work and ready through it and fix all areas which had less information and description. In tutorial we had gone through things to do with interviews for universities and apprenticeships. In the third lesson we watched a tutorial on adobe XD. In the final lesson i started adding all the final pieces of my work .
